# 1. War rings
An epic power struggle between good and evil, Ring of War is not just a fantastic war game , it is perhaps one of my favorite two player games of all time.
Do you really find a more classic fight than Tolkien’s fantasy world of Middle-earth ?
Each player controls either the Free People of Middle-earth or Sauron's forces. War of the Ring is so interesting that it's not just a great version of Risk with a Full Board Miniature . Each faction has its own special feeling. Sauron's army is infinite and powerful, but his base of power is within Mordor itself. Armies must be deployed across Middle-earth, and if given enough time, they will simply defeat everyone in their path.
The free people of Middle-earth are hoping for a scholarship to reach Mt. Doom and Destroy One Ring. Their numbers are limited, but their goal is not the complete destruction of the enemy. Their goal is to last long enough for the scholarship to do its job.
War Rings truly offers an amazing Lord of the Rings experience. The story is transcribed on the board in real time. Society members can fall at any time, key battles that hold back the tide of orcs can be lost, and lone units can hold back the bottleneck of forces.
The War of the Ring theme is perfect for 2 players and creates one of the most themed gaming experiences I’ve come across.
- For 2 4 players
- Playing takes about 2 hours
- Massive game board measuring 70 x 100 cm in two sections, 16 action cubes, ...
# 2. Dark battle
As much fun as it is to repeat the sounds of the Cold War, Twilight Struggle captures an underutilized period of world history and creates an incredibly atmospheric and historically healthy board game.
Unlike most games, the goal is not thermonuclear war and the complete eradication of enemies. Players strive to gain the greatest impact on the Cold War world, in which the domino effect actually has consequences. Twilight Struggle is considered one of the best new modern board games. Due to the different strategies and complexity of the game, it was played competitively around the world.
In addition to the amazing experience with two players, the players also enjoy one of the best historically researched board games I have ever seen.
- A game with five players
- Great strategy game
- Playing takes about 3 hours
# 3. Star Wars: Rebellion
A game of cat and mouse on a galactic scale, Star Wars: Rebellion allows players to relive epic Star Wars moments in recreating the actual conflict between an evil empire and solid rebels.
The two players fight either as an invincible empire with endless resources or the rebels launch guerrilla attacks. Each faction has different pros and cons, but it all merges into an amazing showdown.

# 4. Gloomhaven: Jaws of the left
If you’re not ready to commit to the huge Gloomhaven black hole , you can try a prequel instead. You also won’t have to deduct $ 100 for this or deal with a car-sized game box. Jaws fo the Lion is a normal-sized board game that acts as a beginner’s guide to the world of Gloomhaven. This is a simple small size version that is much easier to play and will not ruin your bank account.

# 5. Advisory Detective Sherlock Holmes
I’m a big fan of Sherlock Holmes Series Counseling Detective. The puzzles feel straight from Arthur Conan Doyle's novel and the components I really like.
This is a fantastic game with which the duo can transform the deductible mental muscles. The hints are scattered all over the city, and with a beautiful map of London and a copy of the post, players will have to decipher the hints and solve the mysteries together.
This is a great way to spend an evening or think during the day. Also check out our picks for the best Sherlock Holmes board games too!
# 6. Underwater places
"Life under the sea is better than anything they have up there."
Underwater Cities is one of those games that works well for all numbers of players, from just 4 players, but with 2 players the game really comes to life.
Players compete to build their underwater shelters using interconnected underwater domes. Each dome can support a number of facilities and this is exactly the balance if you want to get the right ratio of food , fresh water and all the important winning points.
The boards and artwork on the cards are beautifully designed and reminiscent of the classic novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea: A Underwater World Tour by author Jules Verne.
# 7. Android Netrunner: A card game
For a cyberpunk game that will never disappoint, Netrunner turns away the best of them. Netrunner is a classic fight between miracle hackers and monsters.
This deck building live card game offers amazing abilities and a strategy that two players can explore together. Although no longer printed, there is a huge community that is still willing to invade megacorporations and has been popular enough in its heyday to still float quite a few copies.
Android: Netrunner puts two players against each other. One plays as a brilliant hacker who wants to destroy the megacorporations that run the world, and the other this same megacorporation with almost unlimited resources.

- Futuristic gambling and cyberpunk intrigue ...

# 8. Memories of '44
Memories of ’44 is a fantastic introduction to war board games . Memoir ’44 belongs to the category of games that amazingly play with only two players. Not only that, but it's one of the best Transition War games out there too.
In this war card game, two players fight across the battle line as commanders. Players give their troops orders to move and attack the enemy. Memoir ’44 offers a number of historical scenarios and if that doesn’t keep you busy, there are many extensions available.
If historical war games aren’t your thing, you can also check out BattleLore, but a fantasy-themed game that uses the same set of rules.
# 9. Patchwork
Mosaic has a strange theme, but it is a fantastic game with a lot of strategy involved. As you can imagine from the name, Patchwork is designed to create the most beautiful quilt. This, of course, requires players to compete for all the important winning points.
This specially designed board game for 2 players is easy to pick up and play and offers a lot of fun strategies. Players take turns buying quilt patches, which they place on their 9 × 9 net.

# 10. Agricola: All creatures big and small
Agricola is one of the most important Euro games , and Agricola: All big and small creatures is his little cousin.
This is a distilled version of Agricultural this is still quite complicated for the 2 player variant.
Each player starts with a small 3 × 2 plot of land that can be used to raise a variety of Animals . As the game progresses, more upgrades and more building land are available. Players who know the original Agricola will find it very familiar.
All Creatures Big and Small plays in about 30 minutes and in a small package scratches the rage for a tough strategy Euro game.

- TABLE STRATEGY: Start with a 3x2 game board that can be ...

# 11. The captain is dead: Dangerous planet
As the name suggests, the ship landed on an alien planet and the captain experienced his unfortunate end. The rest of the crew depends on survival and elusiveness.
In this case, a cooperative game , the players bravely go straight to the trash. The captain is dead, the aliens are attacking and everything is terrible. Luckily, the lively crew is still alive and if he can gather enough artifacts to comply with the fleet’s order, he can go home.
But it’s never that easy.
The Captain is Dead: Dangerous Planet is a sequel to Captain is Dead and offers just as many terrifying situations for the crew. It plays great with two players and is a must-have sci-fi fan for everyone .
# 12. Stump
The hive hits a lot of lists for 2 players and there is a reason for that. It has such a wide appeal for all age groups, from children to adults, is very strategic and can be played literally anywhere.
I really enjoy the hive and one of the best things about it is this Portability .
The pieces are made of hard plastic, so you can put the whole thing in a small carry-on bag and play it on any flat surface. I traveled with my copy and Kendra and I sat in many pubs around the world and played with a few (or more) pints. A game that is completely resistant to beer spills is really rare.
- high quality
- Military ants and grasshoppers
- Game producer Gen42, awarded by Mensa select for excellence
# 13. Jaws
"We're going to need a bigger boat."
I was utterly horrified when I stepped into the water weeks after seeing this Movie and even as an adult it is still in my head when I go to the ocean.
The jawbone board game returns to the classic Spielberg cinema with Hooper, Brody and Quint. The jaws come in 2 acts. The first is shark hunting. One player takes control of the shark and tries to eat as many swimmers as possible. The other controls the trio as they rescue the swimmers, close the beaches, and finally mark the shark with barrels to find it.
The second act is an iconic showdown between a shark and a human. Human actors try to defend a shark that is destroying a ship around them and circling for murder. How many swimmers the shark ate in the first fact depends on how many skill cards each side receives before the final showdown.
Jaws is an amazingly themed film that translates nicely into a 2-player game. Mind games between a shark and a human actor are some of the best I’ve seen, and they’re a great desktop experience.
# 14. Welcome to…
That's a little silly.
The themes of board games are known to lead the scale from high-energy fantasy and science fiction to the utterly mundane. Welcome to ... belongs to the latter.
In the Welcome to ... program, the goal is to build the most successful suburban neighborhood. Players compete to see who can successfully build a thriving neighborhood and meet a public goal. Welcome to… offers a fast-paced suburban action as players take turns at the same time.
It offers a lot of changeable settings, so you will also have a lot of variety in this interesting game with two players.
- 1 to 100 players
- 25 minutes of average playing time
- Number of players: 1-100
# 15. The fog of love
The fog of love is a couples game it doesn't have to be a couple game. The Mist of Love is like a board game to simulate relationships. Players create their avatars to play scenes of two potential lovers destined to cross the path. Whether they end up together in a fairytale romance or fall apart faster than a bad Tinder date is entirely up to the actors.
The Mist of Love is one of those games where the story created by the actors is more important than the actual gameplay. However, behind this great storyteller there is a game and a very precise way to win.
Players find themselves in a variety of strange situations that test their relationship. Whether the actual actors are in a relationship or not isn’t necessary, as the stories coming out of the Mist of Love are like watching a really good rom-com that’s perfect for any two-player band.
- Includes 1 policy, game board, 2 double-sided cars, 2 ...
- 2 custom chip fields containing each player's chips
- 1 custom organizer cartridge, 110 scenes, 4 love stories
