The best board games based on video games

The best board games based on video games

I used to play a lot of video games. I still have, but also sometimes.

Games can be available in all different formats and media. Board games give me an amazing social path and are simply fun, while video games allow people to insult my mom from everyone around the world .

Luckily for us, a video game developer looks at their IP every now and then and thinks, "We should turn this into a board game."

Now the players will have to talk in person at the table, just like they used to.

So let’s take a look at some of the best board games based on video games.

Deity: original sin

Logo and art board game Divinity Original Sin

The much-anticipated board game comes directly from the designers of the original video game. Nearly $ 2 million has already been pledged for the Kickstarter project, and players have been watching it lately. PAX Convention .

The RPG co- op will be set in the world of the deity with an emphasis on RPG elements. The designers clearly know how to make an RPG, and their first entry into the game balls on board looks like a hit. Players will have many options for how they complete each story, and the whole world takes place in the style of story books.

Honestly, it’s more reminiscent of a table pen and paper RPG than a board game, so I’m always thrilled when I see hard storytelling in my board games. It is expected to be released this year in 2020 and I am watching this.

World of Warcraft: Board game

World of Warcraft board game

World of Warcraft has always helped the franchise you want or hate. Rarely are there people I’ve met who don’t have strong feelings about how they’ve played it before anyway.

There is no denying that in the world of MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) games, Blizzard’s WoW rules.

But how does it work on the table?

It's big.

About as big as Azeroth himself. The WoW board game (if you’re lucky enough) is a huge mini-full game spanning the entire conflict world. Players will dedicate it to the Horde or Alliance and try to kill the Big Bad Evil boy or just everything in general.

StarCraft: A board game

Starcraft board game

Zerg is by far the best faction. Go ahead, try to change your mind.

The StarCraft board game is great. He is sometimes accused of struggling with the rules, but he is about as close to the original video game as possible.

Everything from miniatures, units and buildings are completely themed to give players the same feel they know and love Starcrafty.

It’s so like it’s really hard to find, but if you’re a 40k Warhammer fan, the game itself has been restored / clothed in 40k fame under the name Forbidden Stars.

Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms & Fallout: Wasteland Warfare

Board game Elder Scrolls Fallout

Bethesda did 2 of my favorite series. Fallout for its apocalyptic desert and Elder Scrolls for an amazing fantasy world. Both games are completely open worlds and have been absolute black holes for some time. I never want to see the total playing time from one of these games ... it’s bad.

Both video games are under the auspices of Bethesda, so it is only appropriate that the desktop company also consider both analog versions.

Modiphius Entertainment , known for reviving the desert in the rainfall miniature game , has just finished with a final touch of Call to Arms inspired by the Skyrim miniature game to be released in March 2020 this year.

Both are built on the same system, so you’ll be able to choose your favorite setting and start your epic story, whether you decide to become a Vault Dweller or a Dragonborn.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk Red board game

Cyberpunk has always been a top punk ... I'm watching you, steampunk.

Coinciding with the release of the highly anticipated cyberpunk video game starring Keanu Reeves comes the traditional Cyberpunk desktop RPG, which has released a brand new launch module that acts as a prequel to the game.

This is a really smart way to achieve world building before the game is even published. It gives players a chance to bet even before the screen title is even loaded.

If you’re looking for something traditional to play and you’re excited about the series, you might be interested.

Witcher

Witcher board game

I was curious when I first got the video game Witcher. The world and the sciences associated with it are so cool. Are you fighting the monster like some weird metahuman thing ?! Hell!

Then I got into a video game fight and I couldn’t do either head or tail. It was a world that always interested me, but I could never get into it.

It was much easier for me to enter the world of board games and I was able to jump into it without any problems.

Take control of 4 iconic Witcher characters: Geralt, Triss, Yarpen and Dandelion.

The killer is a religion

Assassins Creed board game

Another board game Assassin's Creed is now available. I’m sure it’s okay, but it looks so boring that I haven’t come to check yet.

The Venetian fraternity , on the other hand, looks amazing. This is another game that is currently on Kickstarter, but it looks pretty fantastic and wasn’t designed by Ubisoft, so the chances of it actually evolving properly are pretty high.

shovel Knight

Board game Shovel Knight

Shovel Knight was a funny indie game in which you are a knight armed with a shovel.

WTF?

In fact, it was pretty hard to beat.

The board game similarly inappropriately confused its predecessor. Players play as their own shovel knight and break through the dungeon, armed with a reliable shovel.

It can be especially brutal, as your fellow knights do their best to get all this sweet, sweet booty ahead of others.

DOOM

Doom: a board game

I still remember playing DOOM on 3.5-inch floppy disks and cheating with the God Mode code “iddqd”. It was terribly devilish and I hated the giant red floating demons. They seriously scared me.

DOOM actually creates a pretty decent rendition of the First Person Shooter (FPS) video game and translates it into a gaming ball pretty well.

It’s not first-person, of course, but it creates the feel of playing with an army and a gun, for which the original (and latest) versions of DOOM are known.

The DOOM board game takes caterpillar caterpillars to approach the game in a 1 to 4 match. Marine players will have different goals and run around the arena where they will drive demons out of hell, and one lucky player will be able to control monsters from hell, all beautifully designed and trying to kill the Marines.

You will definitely feel like you are playing the DOOM game with this.

Resident Evil

Resident Evil 2: Applicants for Board Games Pro

Another creepy video game from my childhood. Resident Evil coined the term “ survival horror ” in video games, creating a whole new subgenre of video games.

In fact, there are several board games on the theme of Resident Evil if you want to make an analog switch.

The first was the Resident Evil Deck Building Building. It uses traditional construction deck mechanics to help players try to survive the horrors of Raccoon City and all the classic monsters you can think of.

The second is based on Resident Evil 2 . This is a more exciting themed game with a box full of mini and ugly monsters, including Berkin, a scary ever-present monster from the classic game.

XCOM

XCOM board game

I’m a big fan of XCOM games. I got a butt that aliens dabbed in the originals, under the ocean, and even fought in resistance.

XCOM: The board game is a technologically enhanced board game that allows you to transfer that ridiculous measure of tension and build a foundation to the table.

It uses the app to launch the game, while each player has a different role; commander, central, scientist and chief leader.

Each role is completely different and each must master a different aspect of alien invasion. It gets pretty awful, especially when the app yells at you that more alien attacks are coming.

Portal

Portal board game

Is the cake really a lie?

The video game Portal was one of the first games that actually made me laugh. The guy sitting in front of the computer and smiling isn't really a pretty sight ...

The portal is a strange journey and the more the rabbit hole the more strange and interesting it became, especially when it came to the 2-player mode of collaboration.

The board game is trying to get some of those weird "a-ha!" the moments the video game offered so well. Just look at the name of the game, “Unprepared Cake Making Game,” and you’ll see that you’re obviously ready for humor in the language that Portal is known for.

The board for board games will be constantly moving as players bounce around the arena with portals and steal each other’s cake. Of course, the one with the most cake in the end wins.

Gears of War

Board game Gears of War

In a world where every inhabitant is an exterminated monster with massive biceps, except for one female character left in space, comes GEARS WAR! </ Movie Voice Clip>

Gears of Wars have put everything on a crazy level. It was all about a bunch of dropped soldiers shooting and sawing dropped brushes.

The designers knew what it was about and I have to say the chainsaw bayonet was a lot of fun.

The board game uses a collaborative approach and gives players control over Cog soldiers (humans) in a random killing mission and most likely locust chainsaws (pray people brothers).

Bioshock Infinite: The Siege of Colombia

Board game Bioshock Infinite Siege of Colombia

Bioshock games blew me away when they first came out. In the end, I played all 3 and played Bioshock 2 several times.

The board game version takes us into the world of Bioshock Infinite (the third game) in the floating city of Columbia.

The Siege of Colombia has a more general view of the world as opposed to a video game that focuses on the journey of Booker and Elizabeth to Colombia.

Players will take control of one of the two factions, Vox Populi or the Founders. They will fight for control of Colombia and try to steer the events of the video game to their advantage as Booker and Elizabeth run around and wreak havoc across Colombia.

Civilization

Civilization: A New Dawn 4X Board Game

I spent countless hours playing Civilization PC and Gandhi nuked me several times. Yeah, that actually happens a lot.

About the classic board game for building civil society actually translates quite well as a board game. Players start with a unique city, a worker and a soldier, and from there they expand outward, pushing the boundaries of their civilization.

It’s a fantastic board game, but I honestly like it through age better. It seems merely a purer general experience with many of the same topics.

Street Fighter

Board game Street Fighter Deckbuilding

I was very confused when I heard that they created the board game Street Fighter. How to change the table experience from the most famous fighter? Don’t put Jean-Claude Van Damme in it, that’s for sure.

Street Fighter in a brilliant stroke uses the mechanics to build the deck. Fighter / deck-builder works wonderfully together, and players will be able to complement their move by stacking their deck with powerful skill cards and unique powerful cards for each character.

If you feel like a frog, you’ll be able to swing the circle boss sitting in the corner and quietly judging decisions about your cards.

If you beat the boss and survive the counterattack, you will win the winning points.

I was very impressed with this game. Instead, I would like to see an old work of art SNES. That was the last time I played Street Fighter.

Minecraft

Minecraft board game

Minecraft is my fault. There is something really fun in the procedurally created world.

I spent hours trying to see the house just right, only to remember leaving the door open and an avalanche coming in.

The Minecraft board game is basically just an analog version of the basic mechanics of video games. Wander around the pixelated world, kill monsters, dig and of course build.

One of the main audiences for Minecraft is the younger crowd and they were not neglected in the design of the board game. Players who know the game will easily pick up the rules and will set up their strongholds soon.

That war Mine

This hint is a single player game

Are you ready to be touched by your feelings?

Damn bad.

This war of mine, look at the war from a point of view not usually shown in games. This time you are civilians abandoned in a war zone and simply trying to survive.

It's seriously depressing. Do you share your last shot of the medicine with a group of orphans begging at the door? Are you robbing an old couple who had supplies before the war? How much suffering are you willing to endure or affected to survive?

These are not really trick questions. There are no aliens or great villains to point to. It’s just humanity at its lowest point and not necessarily fiction. Every scenario and worse has happened in history or is happening now.

It's a fun game.

It’s not a fun game, but it encourages you to think.

Government: Council

Government government board game

The original Reigns game comes from one of my favorite video game publishers, Devolver Digital. This is an imaginative sim where you rule the entire kingdom from your throne room. The whole game takes place in the form of an audience with various ambassadors, advisers and farmers from your kingdom.

To rule the kingdom is really just an endless parade of people who want things from you.

Playing with world cards is a slightly different beast. They take on the simple theme of the game and turn into a light of fun / bluffing. One lucky player becomes crowned monarch, and all other players become their “loyal” advisers. When the kingdom inevitably collapses and burns down, the monarch is killed and every adviser who has been met with a secret goal wins.

It kind of sucks to be in charge.

State of Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong State Board Game

Yes, there was the board game Donkey Kong, on which the 90s are INTERESTED .

In the unlikely mix of all the mixes, Nintendo teamed up with the official POGs company to create the Donkey Kong Pog-flinging board game.

None of these things really are many, but you can get 36 Pogov.

You basically get a really cool cardboard target and fancy Pogs to bump into. Oh, the '90s ... it was a simpler time.

hello

Hello board game

In the world of first-person shooters, Halo stands shoulder to shoulder with gaming giants like DOOM and GoldenEye.

Originally titled, Halo: Combat Evolved, it did just that.

Surprisingly, there are many board games of Halo, from board miniature games to generic Risk and Monopoly versions. There was one game that really stood out, and that was Interactive Strategy Game. Probably a terrible title for the game, the game itself is pretty neat.

It comes with quite a few minis and a modular board that allows players to raise levels. You can even recreate levels from games and play the entire video game story on your desktop.
